Ambassador Terry Igiebor, a member of the Edo State Audit Service Commission, has formally resigned his appointment effective March 1, 2026, in compliance with a recent directive issued by the Edo State Government.
The circular directs all political appointees seeking to contest the forthcoming elections to relinquish their positions on or before the stipulated date. In a formal communication announcing his decision, Igiebor cited adherence to due process and respect for constituted authority as the basis for his resignation.
“I hereby relinquish my appointment accordingly,” he stated, affirming his obedience to the government’s directive.
He show appreciation to the Edo State Government the opportunity to serve as a member of the Commission, describing his tenure as both a privilege and an honour. He noted that his service afforded him the opportunity to contribute to institutional strengthening, accountability, and governance reforms within the state’s audit framework.
Igiebor also conveyed gratitude to colleagues and stakeholders for their cooperation and support throughout his time on the Commission.
Despite stepping down, Igiebor reaffirmed his commitment to Edo State’s development, pledging to serve in any lawful capacity. His resignation takes immediate effect.
