The Lagos State Command of the Peace Corps of Nigeria has congratulated the National Commandant and members of the Corps nationwide as the organisation marks its 28th anniversary, celebrating nearly three decades of promoting discipline, patriotism, youth development, peacebuilding, community service, and nation-building.
In a statement signed by Amb. Patriot Badmus Akeem Abayomi, Commandant, Peace Corps of Nigeria, Lagos State Command, the Command, on behalf of its Executive Council, officers, men, and volunteers, described the anniversary as a significant milestone in the Corps’ history. The celebration, themed “Peace Corps @28: A Major Stakeholder in Addressing Contemporary Security Challenges: Options and Strategies in Nigeria,” underscores the organisation’s growing role in supporting peace, security, and national development.
The Lagos Command commended the visionary leadership of the National Commandant, noting that his dedication, resilience, and unwavering commitment have continued to strengthen the Corps and position it as a strategic partner in addressing contemporary security challenges across the country.
The Command also prayed for greater wisdom, strength, and divine guidance for the National Commandant, while expressing hope for continued unity, progress, and greater accomplishments for the Peace Corps of Nigeria.
The statement reaffirmed the Corps’ enduring commitment to its guiding ideals of discipline, patriotic service, and nation-building, while wishing all members a memorable and successful 28th anniversary celebration.
