FIFA has unveiled the full schedule for the 2027 Women’s World Cup in Brazil, confirming the dates and venues for all 64 matches across eight host cities.
The tournament will kick off on June 24, 2027, with hosts Brazil opening the competition against their first opponent at the iconic Maracanã Stadium in Rio de Janeiro.
Brazil will play its second group-stage match at Arena Itaquera in São Paulo on June 29 before completing the group stage at the Estádio Nacional in Brasília on July 4.
The 2027 Women’s World Cup will feature 32 teams competing across eight Brazilian cities, with each host city set to stage at least seven matches, including at least one knockout fixture.
Brasília, Porto Alegre, Recife and Salvador will host matches through the Round of 16, while the quarter-finals will take place in Belo Horizonte, Fortaleza, Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo.
São Paulo will host one semi-final and the third-place play-off, while Rio de Janeiro will stage the second semi-final and the tournament final at the Maracanã.
Maracanã Set for Women’s World Cup History
The 2027 final at the Maracanã will give the legendary stadium a unique place in FIFA World Cup history.
The venue will become only the third stadium to host both a men’s FIFA World Cup final and a Women’s World Cup final, joining the former Råsunda Stadium in Solna, Sweden, and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, United States.
The Maracanã previously hosted the 2014 men’s World Cup final between Germany and Argentina.
FIFA President Gianni Infantino said the tournament would showcase the continued growth of women’s football and give fans and communities across Brazil a central role in the global event.
“We can’t wait to witness a new chapter of women’s football history unfold when the world’s best players, coaches, fans and local communities take centre stage in Brazil next year,” Infantino said.
FIFA Chief Women’s Football Officer Dame Sarai Bareman said the schedule was developed with sporting fairness and player welfare in mind.
She said FIFA considered travel distances, recovery periods and the overall competition experience for all 32 teams while also ensuring supporters across Brazil would have opportunities to attend matches.
FIFA Fan Festivals Planned Across Host Cities
FIFA also announced plans for Fan Festivals in all eight host cities, giving supporters opportunities to watch matches and participate in football-related activities outside the stadiums.
The festivals are expected to extend the tournament atmosphere into local communities and allow fans without match tickets to experience the event.
With all 64 fixtures now allocated to venues, attention will shift to the qualification process and the eventual composition of the 32-team field.
The 2027 FIFA Women’s World Cup is expected to be a major sporting event for Brazil and another significant milestone in the continued growth of women’s football worldwide.
