A Delta State court has ordered the remand of popular content creator Ifeanyi Ogbonna, popularly known as Odogwu Asaba, over allegations of rape and the death of 20-year-old Favour Agbro.
The remand order was granted on Friday, September 4, 2026, after the court heard an application seeking to keep Ogbonna in custody as the case proceeds.
Awele Ideal, counsel to Favour’s family, announced the development in a social media post on Friday, saying Ogbonna had been transferred to the Ogwashi-Uku Maximum Correctional Centre.
The court’s decision came shortly after the police investigation team received the autopsy and toxicology reports relating to the case.
Ideal said the autopsy and toxicology findings, alongside other evidence gathered by investigators, had been included in the investigation report prepared for prosecution and trial.
“Today, the 4/9/2026, the application to remand Mr Ifeanyi Ogbonna (Odogwu Asaba) was heard and granted by the Court. He has now been remanded at the Ogwashi Uku Maximum Correctional Center,” Ideal said.
According to the lawyer, Ogbonna will be brought before the court as the case progresses, while the Ministry of Justice, through the Attorney-General and Director of Public Prosecutions, will handle the next stage of the prosecution.
Ideal added that she would continue to represent Favour’s family and keep the public informed as the legal proceedings continue.
The allegations against Ogbonna remain subject to determination by the court as the case moves through the legal process.
