Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited has successfully redeemed its ₦25.1 billion Series 1 Commercial Paper (CP) on schedule, reinforcing confidence in the agro-commodities company’s liquidity, financial discipline and ability to meet its obligations to investors.
The redemption was completed on the maturity date of September 4, 2026, marking an important milestone for Sunbeth as it continues to expand its operations in Nigeria’s agricultural export sector.
The company, one of Nigeria’s leading cocoa exporters and a major contributor to the country’s non-oil export sector, secured regulatory approval in March 2026 for a ₦200 billion Commercial Paper Programme to support the expansion of its agricultural export operations.
Under the programme, Sunbeth completed its Series 1, Series 2 and Series 3 issuances in March, attracting total subscriptions of ₦165.73 billion against an initial target of ₦100 billion. The company accepted ₦150.4 billion across the three series, highlighting strong investor demand for its commercial paper.
Speaking on the successful redemption, the Chief Executive Officer of Sunbeth Global Concepts Limited, Olasunkanmi Owoyemi, said the company’s ability to meet its Series 1 obligation in full and on schedule reflected the strength of its business and its commitment to responsible financial management.
He said maintaining investor confidence remained central to the company’s growth as it expands its participation across the agricultural value chain.
The Chief Financial Officer, Adeyemi Aduwo, said the redemption demonstrated Sunbeth’s disciplined approach to capital and liquidity management.
According to him, the company would continue to deploy capital efficiently, maintain strong financial controls and ensure that its funding structure supports sustainable growth while meeting its obligations as they fall due.
In less than 10 years of operations, Sunbeth has grown into a significant player in Nigeria’s agricultural export ecosystem.
Since its establishment in 2017, the company has exported more than 200,000 metric tonnes of cocoa beans and 60,000 metric tonnes of cashew nuts to international markets, strengthening Nigeria’s position in the global agricultural commodities trade.
Sunbeth also works directly with more than 30,000 farmers and collaborates with over 250 local buying agents across the country, creating links between farmers, local markets and international commodity buyers.
Its global strategic partners include Cargill, GCB Group, JB Cocoa, Touton, Macquarie and StoneX.
The company currently holds investment-grade ratings across both short- and long-term categories from DataPro, GCR, Agusto & Co. and Intelligence Africa.
Sunbeth has an A2 short-term rating from all four agencies, while its long-term ratings include A+ from DataPro, BBB+ from GCR, BBB from Agusto & Co. and BBB+ from Intelligence Africa, which has a stable outlook.
Its ₦200 billion Commercial Paper Programme is also subject to the disclosure and reporting requirements of FMDQ Securities Exchange, providing investors and the wider market with continued visibility into the company’s financial position and performance.
As it looks ahead, Sunbeth is expanding its procurement capacity, strengthening international partnerships and increasing its participation in higher-value segments of the agricultural value chain in Nigeria and across sub-Saharan Africa.
The company says its strategy remains focused on empowering farmers, strengthening agricultural trade and creating socio-economic impact through strategic partnerships, innovation and industry expertise.
