Chadian authorities have displayed a cache of weapons seized during security operations targeting the illegal possession and circulation of firearms across several provinces in eastern Chad.
The seized weapons were presented on Thursday, September 17, 2026, following security operations conducted in Wadi Fira, Ennedi East, Ouaddaï and Sila provinces.
The operations form part of ongoing efforts by the Chadian authorities to curb the proliferation of weapons and prevent their illegal possession and circulation in the eastern part of the country.
Authorities said the seizures reflected intensified security measures aimed at strengthening control over firearms and other weapons in the region, where the movement of arms remains a significant security concern.
The public display of the seized weapons was also intended to demonstrate the outcome of the ongoing crackdown and reinforce efforts to ensure that confiscated firearms do not return to circulation.
The authorities are continuing security operations across the affected provinces as part of broader measures to restrict the movement and illegal possession of weapons and strengthen security in eastern Chad.
