The Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, has dismissed reports of an alliance between the Peoples Democratic Party and the Allied People’s Movement ahead of the 2027 elections.
Wike described claims of a partnership between the two political parties as mere speculation and the imagination of some politicians.
Speaking on the matter, the former Rivers State governor said the PDP had already clarified its position publicly, stressing that no alliance exists between the party and the APM or any other political platform.
According to him, even the Independent National Electoral Commission is aware that there is no arrangement known as the PDP-APM alliance.
There had been reports of a possible coalition between the two parties before the declaration of presidential ambition by Seyi Makinde.
Wike also reacted to questions surrounding the political situation involving Sim Fubara, who was rumoured to have dumped the All Progressives Congress for another party before publicly reaffirming loyalty to the APC.
The FCT minister said he could not speak on internal issues within the APC because he is not a member of the ruling party, adding that he prefers to focus on matters concerning the PDP.
