Afrobeats superstar Davido has urged aspiring musicians to remain faithful to God even after achieving fame and success, warning that the entertainment industry is filled with distractions that can easily pull them away from their faith.
Speaking during a recent interview with Kiss Xtra, the award-winning singer, whose real name is David Adeleke, encouraged upcoming artistes to believe in themselves, stay committed to improving their craft and never lose sight of the God who helped them succeed.
Davido noted that while hard work and dedication are essential, keeping God at the centre of one’s life becomes even more important after making it in the music industry.
“My advice for up-and-coming artistes is, first of all, believe in yourself. I worked on my craft so much. I loved music so much that I just wanted to get better every time. When I was young, I was learning from YouTube and the people around me,” he said.
He added, “Secondly, love what you do and put God first and close, especially when you make it because there are so many distractions that can make you forget He is the reason you are here.”
Davido’s message comes amid growing conversations about the pressures of fame, reminding young artistes that success should never come at the expense of their relationship with God.
