Premier League club Fulham are closing in on the signing of Super Eagles defender Chibuike Nwaiwu after submitting a €27 million bid to Turkish side Trabzonspor.
According to Sky Sport, Trabzonspor are holding out for €30 million, but negotiations between both clubs are progressing, with an agreement said to be close.
The report added that the transfer is expected to be finalised early next week, with the 22-year-old centre-back set to sign a four-year contract with the London club.
Nwaiwu joined Trabzonspor from Austrian club Wolfsberger AC in January and quickly established himself as a key figure in the team’s defence.
The Super Eagles defender also played a vital role in Trabzonspor’s successful Turkish Cup campaign last season, with his impressive performances attracting interest from Fulham.
