Nigerian-Owned ProTaxi Enters E-Hailing Market, Promises Affordable, Reliable Rides From October 1

Nigeria’s e-hailing and transportation sector is set for a new indigenous entrant as ProTaxi, a Nigerian-owned platform developed by PromiseLand Innovations Limited, prepares to launch nationwide on October 1, 2026, with a focus on making everyday transportation more affordable, reliable and accessible.

The platform is owned by Amb. Lawrence Oloche, who also leads PromiseLand Estate’s drive to develop 100,000 housing units across Nigeria, beginning with the Federal Capital Territory, as part of efforts to address the country’s housing deficit.

ProTaxi represents an expansion of the PromiseLand brand beyond real estate into technology-driven transportation, reflecting the company’s broader vision of improving how Nigerians live and move.

Developed specifically with the Nigerian market in mind, ProTaxi will connect riders and drivers through a digital platform designed to simplify everyday transportation while improving accessibility, safety and affordability.

Its planned entry comes amid changing economic realities in Nigeria’s e-hailing industry, where rising operating costs and pressure on both passengers and drivers have created room for indigenous companies to develop solutions tailored to local conditions.

Rather than simply replicating international ride-hailing models, ProTaxi is positioning itself as a Nigerian-grown mobility solution built around affordability, reliability, accessibility and sustainability.

One of the platform’s key areas of focus is environmentally responsible transportation. ProTaxi is promoting the adoption of electric vehicles as part of a longer-term strategy to reduce operating costs and support cleaner urban mobility.

The company believes that increased adoption of electric vehicles and other cost-efficient transportation models could help deliver competitive fares to passengers while creating sustainable earning opportunities for drivers.

ProTaxi will also offer features such as digital ride booking, driver connectivity, trip information and live-location sharing, enabling passengers to share their journeys with family and friends.

For PromiseLand, the launch represents more than the introduction of another transportation application. It marks an attempt by a Nigerian company to apply homegrown technology to everyday challenges in two critical sectors: housing and mobility.

Through its real estate operations, PromiseLand has focused on property and housing solutions, while ProTaxi extends that approach into transportation by seeking to make movement within Nigerian cities more convenient and accessible.

The emergence of ProTaxi also reflects the growing capacity of Nigerian businesses to develop indigenous technology products in sectors traditionally dominated by multinational platforms.

With ProTaxi, PromiseLand is betting on a simple proposition: a Nigerian solution, built with an understanding of the Nigerian environment, to serve the everyday transportation needs of Nigerians.

Oloche, the company’s CEO, said ProTaxi will be available to Nigerians from October 1, 2026.

The launch will formally introduce the platform to the Nigerian market as PromiseLand seeks to establish ProTaxi as part of a new generation of indigenous technology businesses developing solutions to everyday challenges.
