Army, NDLEA Raid Katsina Community, Nab Six Suspected Drug Dealers

 

 

Troops of the Nigerian Army, working alongside operatives of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), have arrested six suspected drug peddlers during a joint raid in Katsina State.

The operation was disclosed in a post shared on Monday by security analyst and counter-insurgency expert, Zagazola Makama, via his X handle.

According to security sources, the raid was carried out around 5:30 p.m. on May 9, 2026, by troops of the 17 Brigade attached to the Forward Operating Base in Malumfashi.

The joint security team reportedly stormed Kauyan Dawo community in Malumfashi Local Government Area following intelligence reports linking the area to suspected drug-related activities.

During the operation, six suspects believed to be involved in drug peddling were arrested.

Security operatives also recovered 82.5 grams of cannabis sativa, 15.7 grams of Exol-5, and 1.8 grams of D5 from the suspects.

Military authorities said the suspects and the recovered substances had been handed over to the NDLEA for further investigation and possible prosecution.

The authorities added that the operation is part of ongoing efforts to curb drug abuse and other related criminal activities across communities in Katsina State.
