Nigerian singer Bella Shmurda has dismissed reports claiming he lost $4 million in an alleged Lagos property scam, describing the viral story as false.
The rumours gained widespread attention after reports alleged that the singer broke down in tears during an Instagram Live session over the purported fraudulent property deal.
Reacting in a series of posts shared on his Instagram Story on Friday, Bella Shmurda debunked the claims, insisting that he was neither scammed nor in distress.
“Fake news!! I wasn’t scammed. Trust bloggers @ ur own Risk. Doing fine and happy. Peace & Love,” he wrote.
In another post, the singer mocked the report, saying, “4m$ keh?? This country no go sleep!!”
The false claim had triggered concern among fans on social media, with many expressing sympathy after the story went viral.
However, subsequent reports quoting members of Bella Shmurda’s camp also dismissed the allegation, explaining that the video circulating online was an old clip from 2023 that had been taken out of context.
