Nigerian Afrobeats superstar Davido has revealed that global music icon Rihanna is his dream international collaborator, saying he would love to make music with the Barbadian singer.
The award-winning artiste made the revelation during a live interview on Twitch with host @Theboyfromojo.
“Rihanna is my dream collab, but she’s not into music again. She makes billions from her makeup business now,” Davido said.
The “I Know Who I Be” crooner said he admires Rihanna and believes they would create “dope music” together, but admitted he is unsure whether the collaboration will happen anytime soon.
According to Davido, Rihanna is currently focused on expanding her highly successful Fenty Beauty and fashion businesses rather than recording new music.
The two global stars have previously shown mutual admiration for each other. Rihanna once described Davido’s hit song “Unavailable,” featuring Musa Keys, as her favourite track and revealed that she had it on repeat.
Responding to the praise at the time, Davido affectionately referred to the singer as “my Ri Ri.”
Over the years, Davido has collaborated with several international music stars, including Chris Brown, Nicki Minaj, Lil Baby and DaBaby, further cementing his global presence.
Rihanna, whose last studio album, “Anti,” was released in 2016, has since focused on building her multi-billion-dollar business empire through Fenty Beauty while fans continue to anticipate her return to music.
