The University of Benin (UNIBEN) has secured full accreditation for all its degree programmes from the National Universities Commission (NUC).
The achievement, under the leadership of Vice-Chancellor Edoba Omoregie (SAN), highlights the institution’s commitment to academic standards and quality education.
However, the accreditation followed a successful evaluation by the NUC in October and November of the previous year, which covered various faculties, schools, and centers within the university.
The NUC communicated the results in a letter to the Vice-Chancellor, dated April 7th, 2026.
The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Edoba Omoregie SAN expressed his delight with the outcome, attributing the success to the dedication and hard work of the university’s management and staff.
He also acknowledged their commitment to academic excellence and the promotion of high educational standards and values.
Moreso ,the Vice-Chancellor applauded the University’s Senate, Faculties, Departments, and relevant committees for their diligent work towards achieving this goal.
Professor Omoregie reaffirmed his determination to the strengthening of the University’s undergraduate and postgraduate degree programmes as outlined in his 5-point agenda.
“In a statement, the institution’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), Benedicta Ehanire, PhD, said the University’s full accreditation status is valid for five years, until 2030.”
