31 Countries Secure Spots for 2026 FIFA World Cup {Full List}

 

 

Thirty-one (31) countries have so far secured their spots for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, marking a major step toward the expanded global football showdown.

Portugal became the latest team to book their place, thanks to a 9-1 win over Armenia in the World Cup qualifier tie on Sunday.

Portugal was without their captain, Cristiano Ronaldo, who received a red card in their 2-0 defeat against the Republic of Ireland.

In Ronaldo’s absence, goals from Renato Veiga, Gonçalo Ramos, João Neves (3), Bruno Fernandes (3) and Francisco Conceição gave Portugal the victory against Armenia at Estádio do Dragão.

Veritas Nexus reports that host nations USA, Canada, and Mexico have all been granted automatic qualification slots.

Here are the 31 countries that have booked their places at the 2026 FIFA World Cup:

Host nations: the United States, Mexico and Canada.

Asia: Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, Uzbekistan, and Australia, Iran and Japan, Jordan.

Africa: Senegal, South Africa, Tunisia, Algeria, Cape Verde, Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast and Morocco.

Concacaf: None yet.

Europe: Portugal, Croatia, England and France.

Oceania: New Zealand.

South America: Paraguay, Uruguay, Argentina, Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador.
