Cristiano Ronaldo has been named in Portugal’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, making him the first male player to feature in six World Cup tournaments.
The 41-year-old forward was included in the squad announced on Tuesday by the Portuguese Football Federation ahead of the global tournament.
Portugal head coach Roberto Martinez said the squad selection carried emotional significance, including a tribute to former international Diogo Jota.
Ronaldo continues to play a leading role for Portugal at international level, captaining a team that combines experienced stars with emerging young talents as they prepare for the 2026 World Cup.
