Taiwo Oyedele, Chairman of the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policy and Tax Reforms, has urged Nigerians to file their annual tax returns, emphasizing that both individuals and employers are required to comply with the law.
Speaking at a webinar for HR managers, payroll officers, CFOs, and tax managers, Oyedele highlighted that many Nigerians remain non-compliant in submitting self-assessment returns. He stressed that even when employers deduct taxes from salaries, employees are still obligated to file their own returns.
He added that tax authorities are working to simplify the filing process and set March 31 as the deadline for submission.
