‘Behind the Scenes’ Rakes in N200m, Records Biggest Opening Weekend at Box Office

 

 

Behind The Scenes, produced by Funke Akindele, has grossed over N200 million in its opening weekend, marking the biggest debut for any film in 2025. According to distributor FilmOne Entertainment, the movie also recorded the highest admissions of the year, with 34,548 tickets sold.

 

“Behind the Scenes crossed N200 million in just one weekend, broke five opening weekend records, and became the biggest opening of 2025,” the company wrote. The film delves into hidden emotional struggles, societal pressures, self-care, and the contrast between public perception and private reality. With its strong start, it is set to remain a major attraction in cinemas nationwide in the weeks ahead.

In a post on its official Instagram page, FilmOne thanked Nigerian moviegoers for their support, hailing Funke Akindele as the “queen of the box office.” “We call her the queen of the box office for a reason.
