Bendel Insurance Return with Renewed Ambition, Begin Pre-Season Quest for NPFL Glory

Bendel Insurance Football Club have returned from the off-season break with renewed determination as they kicked off preparations for the 2026/27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) campaign.

The Benin Arsenals held their first pre-season training session on Wednesday at the Samuel Ogbemudia Stadium in Benin City, marking the beginning of their quest for a stronger showing in the new season.

Technical Manager Kennedy Boboye led the opening session alongside club officials, setting the tone for what is expected to be an intensive pre-season programme.

Addressing the players, Boboye stressed the importance of discipline, commitment and teamwork, reminding the squad that the club’s ambition is to improve on last season’s fifth-place finish by securing a top-three spot and mounting a serious challenge for the NPFL title.

The coach, who rescued Bendel Insurance from the relegation zone after taking charge in October 2025 before guiding the team to a fifth-place finish, revealed that more new players are expected to join the squad in the coming days as the club strengthens its ranks for the new campaign.

Boboye also disclosed that the club’s management has assured the players of improved welfare, urging them to repay the confidence with impressive performances and entertaining football throughout the season.

He directed all retained and newly signed players to report to the club’s GRA camp in Benin City on or before Friday, July 10, as full pre-season preparations gather momentum.
