BREAKING: Court Sets November 20 for Judgment in Nnamdi Kanu’s Terrorism Case

Justice James Omotosho of the Federal High Court in Abuja has scheduled November 20, 2025, for the judgment in the terrorism case brought by the Federal Government against Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

The judge set the date on Friday following Kanu’s continued refusal to open his defence, despite several indications that he would do so.

Earlier on Friday, Kanu filed a motion challenging his trial on the grounds that terrorism is no longer an offence in Nigeria.

He argued that the Terrorism Prevention and Prohibition Act had been repealed, rendering the charges against him invalid.

The IPOB leader has been in the custody of the Department of State Services (DSS) since 2021, when he was allegedly unlawfully renditioned from Kenya and arraigned on terrorism charges by the Federal Government.
