The Nigeria Police Force is set to deepen its shift towards technology-driven policing as Inspector General of Police (IGP) Olatunji Disu launches the NPF Vigilant App and MTN Closed User Group (CUG) Network on Tuesday, September 1, 2026.
The launch, scheduled for the Nigeria Police Resource Centre in Abuja, is aimed at improving how the Police communicate, share information, coordinate operations and engage with Nigerians.
The NPF Vigilant App is expected to strengthen communication and information sharing between the Police and members of the public, creating a more direct and efficient channel for engagement.
The MTN CUG Network, on the other hand, will provide Nigeria Police Force personnel with a dedicated communication platform designed to support faster coordination and seamless communication across the Force.
Force Public Relations Officer, CSP Ani Iniedu, said the initiative demonstrates IGP Disu’s determination to use modern technology and strategic partnerships to strengthen policing and improve service delivery.
According to the Force, the deployment of the technologies will enhance internal coordination, boost operational effectiveness and support a more responsive, efficient and people-centred policing system.
The Nigeria Police Force said it would continue to embrace technology, innovation and strategic partnerships as key tools for improving security services and strengthening its relationship with Nigerians.
