Controversial Nigerian content creator, Ademola Abiodun, popularly known as DJ Chicken, has sparked reactions on social media after changing his Instagram profile picture to that of Seyi Tinubu, son of President Bola Tinubu, barely 24 hours after regaining his freedom from the Kirikiri Correctional Centre.
DJ Chicken, who was released on Tuesday after meeting his bail conditions, also shared a photo of Seyi Tinubu on his Instagram Stories on Wednesday with the caption, “Hmm ddddy,” and posted videos of Seyi dancing at an event as well as another featuring him with his wife.
The social media posts came shortly after the content creator publicly expressed gratitude to Seyi Tinubu following his release.
In a video announcing his freedom, DJ Chicken, who appeared alongside his lawyer, said:
“I’m back oo, freedom at last. God bless the Nigerian government, God bless Seyi Tinubu, and our president. I love you guys. It is not easy, my fans. People that are free don’t know what God has done for them. Freedom is good.”
DJ Chicken regained his freedom after fulfilling the bail conditions imposed by a Magistrate Court sitting in the Ogba area of Lagos State.
Human rights activist and Sahara Reporters publisher, Omoyele Sowore, also confirmed his release on X, stating that the content creator had reunited with his family, friends and loved ones.
The content creator was remanded at the Kirikiri Correctional Centre after being arraigned on a three-count charge bordering on alleged violations of the Cybercrimes Act, breach of peace and alleged threats to kill Seyi Tinubu.
The charges followed a viral video in which he allegedly claimed that President Bola Tinubu would not win re-election in 2027 and was accused of making threats against the President’s son.
Following public backlash, DJ Chicken retracted the remarks, insisting they were intended as a joke to attract attention and boost his online popularity.
Despite the apology, he was arrested, arraigned and later granted N1 million bail with two sureties in like sum.
The case has been adjourned until August 3, 2026.
