Popular Nigerian singer, Abiola Akinbiyi, professionally known as Bella Shmurda, has alleged that he was defrauded after paying $4 million for a property in Lagos.
The singer claimed he recently discovered that the property did not belong to the individual who sold it to him, alleging that he had unknowingly purchased a stolen property.
Bella Shmurda made the revelation during an emotional Instagram Live session on Tuesday, where he broke down in tears while appealing to Nigerians for help.
Speaking during the livestream, the singer said he was devastated by the situation and feared losing the money he had worked hard to earn.
“Nigeria, I need your help. I’m not doing okay right now. I spent $4 million of my own hard-earned money, only to find out I bought stolen property,” he said.
He further alleged that the seller disappeared shortly after receiving the payment.
“And now the seller has disappeared. Please, help me. Someone step in. I’ve got nothing left,” he said.
“I worked for years for this. I can’t lose $4 million like that.”
Bella Shmurda added that he had already contacted his lawyer to investigate the matter.
“I just contacted my lawyer for further investigation,” he said.
The singer did not disclose the identity of the alleged seller or provide additional details about the property during the livestream.
The allegations have not been independently verified, and no official response has been issued by law enforcement authorities or any other party connected to the transaction.
