As Ekiti State prepares to elect a new governor, the Citizenship Civic Awareness Centre (CCAC) has commended security agencies for their level of preparedness, expressing optimism that Saturday’s governorship election will be peaceful, credible and orderly.

In a statement issued on Friday, CCAC Coordinator, Inwalomhe Donald, praised the efforts of security operatives and election officials, noting that preparations on the ground have inspired confidence among voters ahead of the crucial poll.

According to him, observations made during visits to Ijero Local Government Area showed that election materials had arrived and were already being distributed to various wards, signaling readiness for the exercise.

Donald said the visible deployment of security personnel and logistical arrangements demonstrated a commitment to ensuring a smooth electoral process across the state.

“I must commend the security agencies for the pre-election preparations. I also urge INEC to conduct the Ekiti 2026 governorship election in a manner that meets international standards,” he said.

He added that residents of Ekiti State appear eager to participate in the democratic process and have shown a strong commitment to maintaining peace throughout the election period.

“At Ijero Local Government Area, I witnessed the arrival of election materials that will be distributed to the various wards. The people of Ekiti State are ready to participate in a peaceful election tomorrow,” he stated.

Donald further disclosed that CCAC would actively monitor the exercise, revealing that he would personally be present in one of the local government areas to observe the conduct of the election.

With preparations entering the final stage, attention now shifts to voters, electoral officials and security agencies as Ekiti residents head to the polls to decide the state’s next governor.
