Timini Egbuson has shared his views on the relationship between money, happiness, and depression, saying financial wealth does not always solve emotional struggles.
The Nollywood actor reacted to a viral post on X which claimed that many people battling depression only needed money to overcome their challenges.
“You’re not depressed, you need 20 million naira,” the X user wrote in the post that sparked widespread reactions online.
Responding to the statement, Egbuson said, “It’s not always about money sha,” stressing that even wealthy individuals can still experience depression and emotional pain.
His comment triggered broader conversations on social media, with many users agreeing that depression can also stem from grief, anxiety, emotional trauma, and the loss of loved ones, issues money alone may not fix.
Others, however, argued that financial hardship remains one of the major causes of depression, insisting that many people would feel emotionally relieved if they had enough money to solve their daily problems and responsibilities.
