Manchester City defeated Chelsea 1-0 to win the FA Cup final at Wembley on Saturday, thanks to a brilliant finish from Antoine Semenyo.
Semenyo, who has impressed since joining from Bournemouth in January, scored his 10th goal for City in spectacular fashion. Erling Haaland delivered a low cross into the box and Semenyo, while holding off Levi Colwill, flicked the ball into the far corner with the heel of his right foot to hand City the decisive breakthrough.
Managed by Pep Guardiola, City struggled at times to break down Chelsea’s resilient defence before Semenyo’s moment of brilliance settled the contest. The victory also completed a domestic cup double for City following their Carabao Cup triumph in March after previously losing back-to-back FA Cup finals.
Chelsea will return to Premier League action against Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday before ending the season away at Sunderland on May 24. City, meanwhile, face Bournemouth on Tuesday before concluding their campaign at home to Aston Villa.
