The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) has arraigned luxury lifestyle influencer Afolabi Kazeem Michael, popularly known as KC Luxury, and two alleged accomplices before the Federal High Court in Lagos over the alleged trafficking and attempted export of 184.5 kilogrammes of cocaine to the United Kingdom.
Afolabi was arraigned alongside Boniface Freeman Ochoche Sule and Ikechukwu Ekugo Patriarch on Friday, September 25, 2026, before Justice Ayokunle Olayinka Faji on a 22-count charge bordering on cocaine trafficking, illegal export of narcotics and money laundering.
The three defendants pleaded not guilty to all the charges.
According to the NDLEA, the defendants allegedly conspired between July 28 and August 1, 2026, to export 184.5kg of cocaine concealed in five consignments through a courier logistics company in Lagos and destined for London.
The agency alleged that the consignments were shipped under the name Yemi Ejide and carried Airway Bill numbers 2079998314, 8224082370, 2079973571, 7181131742 and 2211893902.
The charge sheet also names Atandare Oladipupo Oluwarotimi and Latifat Yusuf, who the NDLEA said had already been arrested in London in connection with the case.
In the charges, the agency alleged that Boniface procured Ikechukwu to facilitate the export, while Afolabi allegedly procured a staff member of BOT Express Logistics on Lagos Island to process the consignments.
Afolabi was also accused of unlawfully possessing the cocaine before its intended export.
The prosecution further alleged that ₦13.2 million was paid from a Mallamawa Ventures Zenith Bank account to BOT Express Logistics as consideration for the shipment.
Sixteen of the counts relate to alleged money laundering. The NDLEA accused Afolabi of allegedly moving several billions of naira through a network of companies and personal accounts, including Mallamawa Ventures, Fateey Man Multi-Purpose Nigeria Ltd, Patonifa Ltd, Ade-Lak Resources, Holmestas Global Services Limited and La Capital Enterprises.
According to the agency, the funds were allegedly used, among other purposes, to acquire motor vehicles and landed properties in an attempt to conceal the alleged source of the proceeds.
Afolabi was also accused of failing to declare his assets to the agency as required by law.
Following the defendants’ not-guilty pleas, their bail application was argued. NDLEA prosecutor Abu Ibrahim opposed the application and asked the court to remand the defendants in custody pending trial, citing the seriousness of the alleged offences.
Justice Faji subsequently ordered that the defendants be remanded at the NDLEA facility and adjourned the matter until October 4, 2026, for ruling on the bail application.
Afolabi, who also uses the names KayCee Luxury, KayCee Lux, KC, Mr. Luxury and Yemi Ejide, was arrested by NDLEA operatives on August 13, 2026, while allegedly attempting to leave Nigeria on a business-class flight to Paris from the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Lagos.
His arrest followed the interception of the 184.5kg cocaine consignment, which the NDLEA estimated to be worth about ₦39 billion.
The agency subsequently searched his Banana Island apartment, where it said exotic vehicles, foreign currency and jewellery suspected to be proceeds of illicit trade were recovered.
The first count of the charge alleges that Afolabi, Boniface and Ikechukwu conspired with Atandare and Latifat to export the 184.5kg of cocaine contained in the five consignments.
The charge alleges that the conduct violated Section 14(b) of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency Act.
The defendants’ not-guilty pleas mean the allegations remain to be determined by the court as proceedings continue.
The case is expected to return before Justice Faji on October 4 for a ruling on the defendants’ bail application.
