NPFL: Nasarawa United Battle to Keep In-Demand Baruwa as Rival Clubs Circle

Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) side Nasarawa United are determined to retain goalkeeping coach Olatunji Baruwa despite growing interest from rival clubs ahead of the 2026-27 season.

The former Super Eagles goalkeeper has emerged as one of the most sought-after coaches in the domestic league following his impressive work with Nasarawa United and the national teams.

Baruwa, who currently serves as the Solid Miners’ goalkeeping coach, has previously worked with the Future Eagles, Golden Eaglets and Flying Eagles, building a strong reputation for developing dependable goalkeeping units.

Nasarawa United consider the CAF B Licence holder a key member of their technical crew and are keen to keep him after his contributions in recent NPFL campaigns.

Reports indicate that Niger Tornadoes are among the clubs looking to recruit Baruwa as part of their revamped technical team for the new season.

With his national team experience, coaching credentials and proven record at both club and international levels, Baruwa has become one of the most highly rated goalkeeping coaches in the NPFL.
