As the world marks World PR Day 2026 under the theme, “The Golden Age of Strategic PR,” public relations continues to evolve from a media relations function into a strategic profession that shapes corporate reputation, crisis management and executive decision-making.
With Nigeria set to host the 13th World Public Relations Forum (WPRF) in Abuja later this year, attention is turning to the professionals helping redefine the country’s communications landscape. Among them are 10 outstanding Nigerian women whose work is influencing public relations practice across Africa and beyond.
1. Nkechi Ali-Balogun – CEO, Necci Consulting
With more than 28 years of experience, Nkechi Ali-Balogun remains one of Nigeria’s most respected PR professionals. Currently aspiring to become the first female National President of the Nigerian Institute of Public Relations (NIPR), she is widely recognised for her expertise in crisis communication, corporate governance and strategic communications.
2. Tolulope Olorundero – Founder, Mosron Communications & Nigerian Women in PR
As founder of Mosron Communications and the Nigerian Women in PR (NGWiPR), Tolulope Olorundero has built a strong reputation in corporate communications and B2B public relations. Through NGWiPR, she has created a platform that mentors and empowers female communication professionals across Nigeria.
3. Omawumi Ogbe – Managing Partner, GLG Communications
Omawumi Ogbe is known for leading strategic communications campaigns for major brands and technology companies. She is also the driving force behind the annual PR Power List, which recognises excellence and leadership in Nigeria’s public relations industry.

7. Efe Obiomah – PR Strategist and Author

9. Alex Okoroji – Founder and President, G-Woman Media

10. Stella Okos-Iboje – Program Manager, Nigerian Women in PR
