Vinicius Jr Explains Why He Rejected Arsenal to Extend Real Madrid Stay

Brazilian forward Vinicius Jr has broken his silence after signing a new six-year contract with Real Madrid, explaining why he chose to remain at the Santiago Bernabéu despite strong interest from Arsenal.

The 26-year-old’s future had been the subject of intense speculation as he entered the final months of his previous deal, with Arsenal reportedly eager to bring him to the Premier League after manager Mikel Arteta identified him as a key target to strengthen the club’s left wing.

Although reports suggested Vinicius was open to the move, the Brazilian ultimately committed his future to Real Madrid by agreeing to fresh terms that will keep him at the Spanish giants for another six years.

Speaking for the first time since signing the new contract, Vinicius made it clear that his bond with Los Blancos remains stronger than ever.

“Eight years at the Bernabéu is too short… six more years and forever,” he wrote on his Instagram Story.

Vinicius joined Real Madrid from Brazilian club Flamengo at the age of 18 and has grown into one of the club’s most influential players, making it clear that he wants to continue writing his story with the European giants.
