Transfer: Flick Set to Discuss New Barcelona Striker as Al Hilal Offer €55m for Martinelli

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick has revealed that he will hold talks with the club’s sporting director, Deco, this week over the possibility of signing a new striker before the summer transfer window closes.

Flick made the disclosure after Barcelona’s 5-0 victory over Elche in LaLiga on Sunday, amid growing speculation that the Catalan giants could strengthen their attack before the transfer deadline.

Speaking about the possibility of bringing in a new striker, Flick said, as quoted by Fabrizio Romano: “I will speak to Deco, and we will see. Let’s see what happens this week.”

Meanwhile, Arsenal have received a €55 million offer from Saudi Arabian club Al Hilal for Brazilian forward Gabriel Martinelli.

According to The Times’ Gary Jacob, Al Hilal are hoping the sizeable bid will persuade Arsenal to sell the 25-year-old before the summer transfer window closes.
