Nigeria’s Super Eagles have been drawn into Group C of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Morocco, where they will face Tunisia, Tanzania and Uganda in the group stage.
With a strong record in the competition, including three AFCON titles, Nigeria goes into the tournament regarded as one of the teams capable of winning the trophy. Expectations are high as the Super Eagles prepare for another major continental challenge.
In the last edition of the tournament, Nigeria came very close to lifting the cup. The team reached the final but suffered a 2-1 defeat to hosts Côte d’Ivoire after scoring the opening goal. As preparations continue for Morocco, the clear aim is to improve on that performance and return home as champions.
Nigeria will begin their group campaign against Tanzania on December 23. The match is scheduled to kick off at 6:30 pm (WAT) at the Fez Stadium in Fes.
The second group match will see the Super Eagles face Tunisia on December 27 at 9:00 pm. This fixture is expected to be highly competitive, as clashes between the two sides are often intense and closely contested.
The final group game will be played on December 30, when Nigeria take on Uganda at 5:00 pm. At the end of the group stage, the top two teams in each group will qualify automatically for the round of 16, along with four of the best third-placed teams.
