Aston Villa have completed the signing of highly rated Senegal winger Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in a deal reportedly worth £47 million ($63 million).
The 18-year-old joins Villa after making 31 appearances in all competitions for PSG last season, helping the French club win both the Champions League and Ligue 1 titles.
Mbaye also made headlines at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where he featured four times for Senegal and scored against France to become the youngest African player to score in the men’s tournament.
The France-born winger has earned 15 caps for Senegal since making his PSG debut at the age of 16 and is regarded as one of the country’s brightest young talents.
“Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Ibrahim Mbaye from Paris Saint-Germain,” the Premier League club said in a statement, confirming that the Senegal international had joined on a permanent transfer.
Mbaye becomes the latest recruit in Unai Emery’s rebuilding project at Villa following a major summer of change at the club.
Villa have sold several established players, including Morgan Rogers, Youri Tielemans, Ollie Watkins, Lucas Digne, Emiliano Martinez and Ezri Konsa, while Emery has brought in Alejandro Garnacho, Aaron Wan-Bissaka, Johan Manzambi, Zion Suzuki, Joao Gomes, Leon Goretzka, Matteo Ruggeri and Nicolas Jackson.
Mbaye’s arrival further strengthens Villa’s squad as Emery continues to reshape the team with a mix of established players and emerging young talent.
