The Executive Chairman of Igando-Ikotun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), Snr. Comr. Lasisi Ayinde Akinsanya, has emerged 6th among the 57 Local Government and Local Council Development Area (LG/LCDA) chairmen in Lagos State in the Eko Conference 57 LG/LCDA Performance Ranking for July 2026.
The ranking, released as a special one-year-in-office edition, assessed the performance of chairmen across the state’s 20 Local Governments and 37 Local Council Development Areas (LCDAs) using key indicators, including healthcare, education, infrastructure, environmental management, youth empowerment, transparency, accountability and residents’ feedback.
According to the report, Akinsanya recorded an impressive 91 per cent performance rating, placing him among the top-performing council chairmen in Lagos State after one year in office.
The report said the ranking reflects a year of project execution, strategic leadership and responsiveness to the needs of residents within the Igando-Ikotun LCDA.
It noted that under Akinsanya’s administration, the council recorded progress in infrastructural development, youth empowerment and social welfare, with the initiatives contributing to improved service delivery and strengthening public confidence in the council’s leadership.
The report described the achievement as a reflection of the council’s efforts to advance grassroots development and deliver governance that responds to the needs of the people.
The Eko Conference ranking also recognised the performances of other councils across the state, with Ikosi-Isheri LCDA emerging first with a 98 per cent score, followed by Iru Victoria Island LCDA with 96 per cent, Onigbongbo LCDA with 94 per cent, Kosofe Local Government with 93 per cent, and Lagos Mainland Local Government with 92 per cent.
According to the organisers, all 57 council chairmen were evaluated under the same criteria, with the exercise aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, effective service delivery and sustainable community development across Lagos State.
The report added that while the top-performing councils received special recognition, the assessment also acknowledged the contributions of all council administrations to grassroots governance and community development.
For Igando-Ikotun LCDA, Akinsanya’s sixth-place ranking highlights the council’s performance over the past year and reinforces its position among the leading local government administrations recognised in the 2026 Eko Conference performance assessment.
