FIFA Unveils Prize Money for 2026 World Cup

 

 

FIFA has announced that the total prize money for the 2026 World Cup will amount to $727 million.

According to the world football governing body, the 48 participating nations will share from a $655 million pot.

It stated that the country that emerges as champions will be awarded $50 million; which would amount to the biggest payout ever.

FIFA further said the losing finalists will receive $33million, while the third and fourth-placed teams will be paid $29million and $27million, respectively.

Similarly, squads that finish between fifth and eighth place will earn $19million each.

Additionally, the world football governing body announced that nations eliminated in the round of 16 will receive $15 million, while those ousted in the group stages will receive $9 million.

It also stated that each qualified team will receive $1.5 million to help cover their preparation expenses.
