‘I Want a Family’ – Speed Darlington Laments Being Unmarried at Almost 60

Controversial Nigerian singer and rapper, Speed Darlington, has opened up about his personal struggles, expressing regret over remaining unmarried and without children as he approaches his 60th birthday.

The entertainer, popularly known as Akpi, shared his thoughts in a recent video, admitting that despite his achievements, he feels something important is missing from his life.

Reflecting on his current situation, Speed Darlington said he wants more than the benefits of living abroad, stressing that his greatest desire is to have a family.

“I am close to 60 with no wife or child. Is this how I am going to live my life? All I have to show is American papers. I want more than American papers out of life. I want family, freedom and respect,” he said.

His emotional remarks have reignited conversations about his long-standing search for a life partner.

Several years ago, the singer publicly announced that he was looking for a wife and outlined the qualities he wanted in his ideal partner. He said she should be dark-skinned, between 18 and 23 years old, at least 5 feet 8 inches tall, weigh less than 150 pounds, and be fluent in both English and Igbo.

Despite publicly stating those preferences, Speed Darlington is yet to find a wife, a situation he now says leaves him longing for the family life he has always desired.
