Afrobeats star ,Rema has revealed that he ended his last romantic relationship because he found it emotionally draining and, at times, manipulative.
Speaking during an interview with YouTuber Korty EO, the singer said the relationship had many beautiful moments but lacked the peace and comfort he desired.
Rema explained that the demands of his music career and life in the public eye already place significant pressure on him. As a result, he expected his home environment to provide relief and stability rather than additional stress.
Reflecting on the experience, the singer said the situation eventually pushed him to walk away from the relationship. He also disclosed that he is not interested in pursuing another relationship for now.
“My romantic relationship was beautiful but a little quite manipulative. So much pressure. Knowing the world puts so much pressure on me but coming back home is where you want to feel relieved, but when you come back home and you are getting more pressure, it’s a different story. For now, I’m done,” he said.
