Naira Posts Third Straight Gain Against US Dollar

 

 

The Naira on Wednesday recorded its third consecutive appreciation against the United States dollar at the official foreign exchange market.

Data released by the Central Bank of Nigeria showed that the local currency strengthened to N1,400.48 per dollar on Wednesday, compared with N1,401.22 at which it traded the previous day.

This development indicates that the Nigerian naira gained N0.74 against the dollar on a day-to-day basis.

Similarly, the Naira strengthened by N5 to N1485 per dollar on Wednesday, up from N1490 traded on Tuesday.

Naira gain across official and black market comes at the country’s foreign reserves grew to $46,04 billion as January 26 2026 according to the apex bank data.

It will be recalled that on Tuesday, the naira posted its highest gain against the dollar in several months.
