The Oniru of Iruland, Oba Abdulwasiu Lawal, has called on members of the Indian business community in Nigeria to deepen investment, establish new ventures, and build lasting partnerships with Iru Kingdom, assuring them of the Palace’s support.
The monarch made the appeal in Lagos while hosting a delegation of the Indian business community under the auspices of the NRI Social & Cultural Association Nigeria (NRCAN) Business Forum.
Oba Lawal said the Palace remains open to investors and partners with genuine ideas that will contribute to sustainable development and economic growth.
“The doors of this Palace will remain open to those who come in good faith, with ideas worth sharing and a genuine desire to build something of lasting value. Great cities are built on trust, collaboration and shared prosperity,” he said.
To strengthen collaboration, the monarch announced the launch of the Iru Business Network, an initiative designed to bring together business leaders, professionals, innovators, investors, and public institutions to exchange ideas, build relationships, and explore investment opportunities.
According to him, the Network is built on the belief that networking, trust, and collaboration are key drivers of economic growth and community development.
He explained that lasting partnerships are not built in boardrooms alone but through meaningful conversations, mutual respect, shared experiences, and trust that create opportunities for sustainable progress.
Oba Lawal reaffirmed the traditional institution’s role in fostering relationships, promoting dialogue, and creating an environment where businesses and investors can thrive.
He added that the Palace would continue to use its convening influence to connect the right people, encourage productive engagements, and support partnerships that contribute to the prosperity of Iru Kingdom, Lagos State, and Nigeria.
The monarch noted that the establishment of the Iru Business Network reflects the Palace’s commitment to cultural and economic diplomacy, expressing confidence that the initiative will strengthen business ties, promote investment, and advance trust, collaboration, and shared prosperity.
