Tears and emotions ran high in Ilaro, Ogun State, on Monday as the remains of veteran Nollywood actor, Taiwo Hassan, popularly known as Ogogo, were laid to rest.
Family members, friends, colleagues and sympathisers gathered to bid farewell to the 66-year-old actor as he was buried according to Islamic rites.
A video from the funeral procession showed mourners carrying Ogogo’s remains to his final resting place, with many visibly overcome by grief.
Ogogo’s close friend and colleague, Yinka Quadri, was particularly emotional during the procession. He was seen crying uncontrollably as mourners gathered around him and tried to offer comfort.
The emotional moment captured the deep sense of loss among Ogogo’s colleagues, friends and loved ones as they paid their final respects to the Nollywood legend.
Several Nollywood stars, including Jide Kosoko, Fathia Balogun, Femi Adebayo, Mr Latin and Toyosi Adesanya, had earlier arrived in Ilaro to attend the burial.
Also present were Ireti Osayemi, Bisi Omo Logbalogba and other actors, family members and well-wishers who came to honour the late actor.
Ahead of the burial, actor Bola Oyin-Adejobi paid tribute to Ogogo during an interview with journalists, praying that the deceased would attain Al-Jannah Firdaus.
Ogogo’s burial brought together members of the Nollywood community and loved ones who mourned the loss of an actor whose career left a lasting mark on the Nigerian film industry.
