2027: NDC promises to tackle insecurity, rebuild economy if elected

The Nigeria Democratic Congress has pledged to address insecurity, revive the economy and provide solutions to Nigeria’s growing challenges if voted into power in the 2027 general elections.

Speaking during a one-day interactive session in Lafia on Saturday, the party’s North Central National Vice Chairman, Barnabas Ejisi, said the NDC was established to rescue Nigerians from hardship and provide purposeful leadership. The meeting brought together party chairmen from North Central states, aspirants, stakeholders and officials.

Ejisi urged Nigerians to unite behind the party ahead of the 2027 elections, stressing that the NDC has the capacity to drive development, improve security and tackle economic hardship across the North Central region and the country at large.

He also commended party leaders, especially Seriake Dickson, for their commitment to national development. According to him, the reported defection of Peter Obi and Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso has further strengthened the credibility of the party.

“If you know what Kwankwaso and Peter Obi stand for and what they achieved as governors, their records are unequalled. Nigerians need leaders who will serve them and not exploit them. NDC is about service, and that is why our slogan is not power, but service,” he said.

Ejisi further encouraged party members to contest elective positions and expressed confidence that the NDC would emerge victorious in the forthcoming Nasarawa North senatorial bye-election.

Also speaking, Solomon Ndam, the party chairman in the Federal Capital Territory, said the large turnout at the meeting reflected growing acceptance of the NDC across the North Central region.

Earlier, Nasarawa State Chairman of the party, Dogo Shammah, called on residents to support the party’s vision for justice, equity and progress, assuring that credible candidates would emerge through a consensus process aimed at promoting unity within the party.
