EPL: Liverpool Hit by Triple Injury Blow as Isak, Gakpo, Jacquet Face Man City Doubts

Liverpool have suffered a triple injury blow ahead of their Premier League clash with Manchester City this weekend, with Alexander Isak, Cody Gakpo and Jeremy Jacquet all doubts for the highly anticipated encounter.

Isak has made an impressive start to his Premier League campaign, scoring four goals in his first five league appearances. However, the striker withdrew from Sweden’s international squad after suffering a thigh injury during the team’s 2-1 victory over Romania.

Gakpo is another concern after being forced off just 17 minutes into the Netherlands’ match against Serbia. The Liverpool forward was on the receiving end of a strong tackle from Sasa Lukic and initially tried to continue before eventually asking to be substituted.

Both Isak and Gakpo have since returned to Liverpool for further assessment ahead of the Manchester City fixture.

Jacquet is also an injury doubt after missing France’s 4-1 victory over Belgium with a reported strain to his left hamstring.

The 21-year-old has started every Premier League game so far this season, making his fitness particularly important to Liverpool as they prepare to face Manchester City.

With all three players now facing fitness concerns, Liverpool will be hoping their injuries are not serious enough to rule them out of a crucial Premier League showdown this weekend.
