The Nationwide League One (NLO) has directed clubs participating in its cup competition to provide adequate security at their home grounds, maintain match facilities and display pitch-side panels bearing their names, partners and sponsors.
The directive, published on the league’s official website, aims to improve match-day safety, promote professionalism and ensure proper organisation throughout the competition.
The NLO instructed participating clubs to ensure that their playing surfaces, dressing rooms and other supporting facilities were in good condition and ready for match-day operations.
It also emphasised the need for effective security arrangements to protect players, match officials, supporters and other stakeholders during matches.
On commercial visibility, the league urged clubs to prominently display pitch-side panels featuring their names, partners and sponsors to boost brand visibility, strengthen commercial partnerships and attract potential investors.
The NLO stressed that compliance with the directive was mandatory, warning that clubs that failed to meet the requirements could face sanctions determined by the Competition Organising Committee.
It urged all participating clubs to take the necessary steps to comply, noting that the requirements were essential to safety, professionalism and the development of grassroots football in Nigeria.
The NLO Cup forms part of the league’s efforts to provide participating clubs with competitive opportunities and promote football development across the country.
