UCL: Guardiola to Miss Two Key Players vs. Bayer Leverkusen

Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola will be missing two key players due to injury when his team takes on Bayer Leverkusen in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday night.

Guardiola spoke at his pre-match press conference on Monday ahead of the Leverkusen clash.

The two players are midfielders Rodri and Mateo Kovacic, who are still recovering from injury.

Guardiola’s side head into the game following a 2-1 defeat to Newcastle United in the Premier League at the weekend.

When asked for an update on Rodri and Kovacic, and whether both players would be ready for the Leverkusen game, Guardiola told reporters: “Not for tomorrow, [Apart from them] everyone else is ready for tomorrow.”

Under Guardiola, Manchester City has won the Champions League once, claiming the 2023 title with a 1-0 victory over Inter Milan in the final.
