The National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, has declared that the party remains the only truly national, deeply structured, ideologically resilient, and electorally durable platform capable of delivering on the present and future aspirations of Nigerians. Speaking in Abuja, he emphasized that in a period of national transition, Nigeria cannot gamble its future on instability or politically disoriented alternatives.
According to a statement signed by his special adviser, Mr. Abimbola Tooki, Professor Yilwatda said the APC has demonstrated institutional maturity, political discipline, and administrative capacity necessary to manage a nation as diverse and strategically important as Nigeria. He stressed that the party is not merely preparing for elections, but is actively working to deepen governance, strengthen democratic culture, and improve public trust.
“The APC is not an ad hoc coalition. It is a tested political machine built on structure, experience, and national reach. We are the only party capable of carrying the weight of Nigeria’s present and future,” the National Chairman stated. He maintained that while governance brings pressures and difficult decisions, the APC remains committed to policies and reforms that ensure long-term stability, productivity, and prosperity.
Commenting on opposition parties, Professor Yilwatda said their internal crises — including factional wars, ego clashes, and legal battles — reflect structural weakness and a lack of managerial competence. “A party that cannot govern itself cannot govern Nigeria. It is politically irresponsible to hand over the country to platforms consumed by internal sabotage,” he warned.
Professor Yilwatda added that the APC is confident in democratic competition and does not seek victory through disqualifying opponents. The party believes in winning elections through persuasion, performance, and popular legitimacy, emphasizing that the strongest mandate is earned freely from the people, not engineered through procedural traps or backroom arrangements.
On national security, he praised the Federal Government’s renewed phase of mass trials for terrorism-related suspects, describing it as a demonstration of state seriousness, judicial accountability, and respect for the rule of law. “Sustainable security must combine military operations, intelligence, legal enforcement, and visible consequences for those who threaten peace,” he said, adding that citizens’ confidence grows when the state enforces justice transparently.
Turning to party affairs in Osun State, Professor Yilwatda commended the APC chapter for its growing organizational capacity and seriousness ahead of future elections. While signs are encouraging, he warned that electoral success requires more than enthusiasm or symbolic activity, emphasizing the importance of strategic, disciplined, and measurable political engagement.
