The African Democratic Congress has extended the deadlines for the submission of nomination forms, screening of candidates and primary election activities ahead of the 2027 general elections.

The party’s National Publicity Secretary, Bolaji Abdullahi, disclosed this in a statement issued on Wednesday.

According to Abdullahi, the adjustment followed requests from aspirants and other logistical considerations surrounding the party’s preparations for the elections.

” Adjustments have been made to the primary elections timetable in response to aspirant requests and logistical considerations. Affected items are indicated accordingly. All other previously published dates remain unchanged,” he said.

He added that the submission of nomination forms previously scheduled for May 13, 2026, has been postponed to May 14, 2026.

According to him, the screening of aspirants previously scheduled for May 14–15, 2026, will now be held from May 16 to May 17, 2026.

The party equally noted that the publication of screening results is scheduled for May 17, 2026, while appeals against screening decisions will run from May 18 to May 19, 2026.

It announced that the publication of cleared candidates will be done on May 20, 2026.

Also, the party announced that the post-primary election appeals for legislative elections will be held on May 22, 2026, governorship election appeals on May 23, 2026, and presidential election appeals on May 26, 2026.

According to the new timetable, screening of presidential and governorship aspirants will be conducted in Abuja, while screening of legislative aspirants will take place in their respective states.

The African Democratic Congress also clarified its payment policy for women and persons living with disabilities, stating that the 25 per cent concession on nomination fees remains in effect.

The party added that aspirants in the affected categories who may have paid above the approved rate would receive refunds.

“Aspirants who may have submitted amounts in excess of this rate are advised that refunds will be processed and communicated in due course,” the statement said.
