Fenerbahçe Complete Signing of Nigerian Midfielder Suliat Abideen

Turkish Women’s Super League champions, Fenerbahçe, have completed the signing of Nigerian midfielder Suliat Abideen from fellow Turkish club ABB Fomget.

The Istanbul-based club announced the transfer on Sunday, confirming that the 24-year-old has signed a contract that will keep her at the club until the end of the season.

Abideen’s arrival takes the number of Nigerian players at Fenerbahçe to three, joining compatriots Regina Otu and Flourish Sabastine, who are already key members of the squad.

The move marks only the second European club of Abideen’s career after her spell with ABB Fomget.

The midfielder rose to prominence in 2024 after playing a pivotal role in Edo Queens’ historic Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) title triumph.

Her outstanding performances throughout the campaign earned her the NWFL Most Valuable Player (MVP) award.

Fenerbahçe will be hoping Abideen’s creativity, experience and midfield quality further strengthen the squad as the club prepares to defend its Turkish Women’s Super League title and compete in continental competitions.
