Sporting Lagos have strengthened their squad ahead of the 2026–27 Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) season with the signing of midfielder Valentine Ugwu from Abia Warriors.
Ugwu joins the Lagos-based club to add quality and depth to the midfield as the team prepares for its return to the top flight after spending several seasons in the Nigeria National League (NNL).
The midfielder made 14 NPFL appearances for Abia Warriors last season, scoring one goal during the campaign.
Sporting Lagos are expected to make more additions to their squad as they aim to compete strongly in the upcoming NPFL season following their promotion back to the elite division.
